Incidents that result in data loss are quite common, so it is always a good idea to keep backup copies of important files. If you need a reliable backup solution, you should take a look at Comodo BackUp. Its flexible functionality and efficient design will meet any expectation you may have from a professional backup utility. In terms of backup source and destination, the software places many possibilities at your disposal. It can send your data to a FTP or cloud server, encrypt it and much more.

Comodo BackUp is offered free of charge. Its setup file is about 36 MB and it takes a few minute to install its components on your computer. The software comes with a cloud storage service as well. You can have 5 GB of free disk space, but you can also get over 250 GB if you pay a monthly or yearly subscription.

The program's user interface has a modern design and you can work on it in a very comfortable fashion. A home screen displays the overall status of your backup and restore tasks. You can access different sections on the interface, where you can define new tasks, execute a series of predefined backup jobs, restore data, manage your online data and more.

The Backup section is where you can tell the software what, where and how to back up. The options placed at your disposal give Comodo BackUp a clear advantage over other similar programs. The program is not limited to backing up simple files. You can select various source types, like files, disk partitions, registry files, email accounts, instant messenger conversations or web browser data. Comodo BackUp automatically detects the messenger conversations, email accounts or browser data on your hard drive.

Once you select a backup source type, you can target the actual data and make other configurations, like selecting a backup type and format. A backup's destination can be a local or network folder, the Comodo cloud, an optical disc, a FTP server or a mailbox. When you reach the final step, you can make a few final configurations, like enabling macros, compressing and splitting the backed up data, encrypting the files and more.

The Shortcuts section displays your library folders, along with options for backing up their contents immediately or scheduling automatic backups. You can also find options for synchronizing folders, uploading data to the cloud, backing up browser data and others. Uploaded data can be managed on a different page. The software displays your local and online folders on separate panels and you can copy files or folders, from one place to another, with simple click and drag actions. You can also mount your cloud data as a virtual drive, so you can manage it in Windows Explorer.

Pros

Comodo BackUp comes with many useful features. It allows you to define and execute all sorts of backup jobs. The backed up data can be stored in local or network folders, on discs, FTP servers or on a cloud server.

Cons

There are no obvious drawbacks to speak of. With Comodo Backup, you can make sure you won't lose any data, even in the event of a catastrophic hardware failure.
